Paramedic - Full-time, rotating shift, 36 hours/wk.

DUTIES

  1. Performs daily vehicle checks as per policy.
  2. Operates ambulance in a responsible manner per policy. 
  3. Interact respectfully with other agencies. 
  4. Documentation of patient contacts as per policy.
  5. Cleaning and restocking of units. 
  6. Renders care in accordance to protocols. 
  7. Responds to all calls for assistance in / out of HCH.
  8. Shows courtesy to patients, visitors and fellow employees .
  9. Complete monthly road orientation.
  10. Follows good infection control measures. 
  11. Cleans and maintains EMS stations in excellent condition.
  12. Utilizes radio in a professional manner as per policy.
  13. Completes on duty training as assigned. 
  14. Fosters and maintains good public relations.
  15. Determines proper mode of response when dispatched.
  16. Maintains good operational knowledge of all equipment.
  17. Uses computerized punch time correctly. 
  18. Positively reflects mission statement of HCH EMS.
  19. Completes hazmat training to operations level.
  20. Provides patient decontamination as needed.
  21. Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate EMS certification level for current position

PARAMEDICS AND INTERMEDIATE MUST MAINTAIN:

  • Current American Heart or Red Cross CPR
  • Current Indiana Paramedic Certification 
  • Current American Heart Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Current American Heart Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Current Hazmat Awareness and obtain Hazmat Operations Level within one year
  • Current Drivers License
