Essential Job Functions:
1. Obtains specimens according to laboratory procedures. 
2. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Follow the laboratory's procedures
for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining
records of patient test results. 
3. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495):Performs proficiency testing as
assigned, maintaining records as appropriate, treating samples in the same
manner as patient specimens.
4. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Adheres to lab quality control policies
and documents all QC activities.
5. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Operates and maintains instruments
and equipment according to protocol. M NI
6. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Performs instrument calibrations
when needed. 
7. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Performs instrument routine
maintenance when needed. 
8. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Follow the laboratory's established
corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within
the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. 
9. Testing personnel responsibilities (493.1495): Identifies problems that may adversely
affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem
or immediately notify the technical consultant or director. 
10. Testing personnel responsiblilities (493.1495): Document all corrective actions
taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance
specifications. 
11. Follows lab protocol for reporting physician alert values.
12. Assesses variations and malfunctions of instruments and proceeds
with repairs as needed. Consults technical assistance and service
for advice and repair.
13. Uses communication skills effectively and courteously with all
customers of the lab.
14. Capably handles the stress of multiple demands and high
pressure situations while performing job duties.
15. Organizes work and sets appropriate priorities. Meets deadlines.
16. Utilizes reasoning abilities and good independent judgment.
17. Participates in monitoring, problem-solving, and reporting follow-up
necessary for continuous improvement of laboratory and hospital
processes.
18. Fulfill other duties deemed necessary, required, or assigned by Laboratory
Director, Laboratory Manager, or LIS/Quality Coordinator.

 Qualifications

MT/MLT required.
